If you choose to book Convent Court, you may be interested to know a little about its amazing history:
In 1853, the renowned ecclesiastical architect Henry Woodyear designed the chapel and offices that became the Convent of St. John the Baptist at Clewer, Windsor.
A place of help and shelter for outcast women, the Convent became the home to the Clewer Sisters who, by 1860, were caring for and educating a community of around 80 people. As the welfare state began to evolve, the need for such institutions began to wane. Finally in 2001, the Sisters moved to new accommodation and the convent closed its doors.
For over 150 years, the Convent of St. John provided a secluded and peaceful environment for its residents. Renovated to the highest standards the same is still true today. Contact us now for a free quote >
